Q:alliance is a small charity and we rely on our band of volunteers and donations to be able to carry out our work.
Interested in getting involved? Read some of our FAQs to see what you can do to help.
Q: Can I volunteer with Q:alliance?
A: Yes of course you can!
Q: What volunteering roles do you have?
A: At present, we aren’t advertising for specific volunteering roles but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a role within Q:alliance! All of our work is led by volunteers – simply put, without them we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without them. Here are some examples of work that our volunteers are doing currently:
- Volunteering at our youth groups
- Leading activities at our Q:offee! social events
- Leading sporting activities at Q:Sport events
This list isn’t exhaustive though – there are so many more things that we’d like to get involved in, but don’t have the people to be able resource.
Q: Are there any restrictions on voluntary roles?
A: For some (but not all) voluntary roles, you will need to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check. Please don’t let this put you off applying though, especially if you’re a trans person who’s worried about completing this process. We will be able to explain the process to you.
Donations & Fundraising
As a small charity, your donations and fundraising make a massive difference to us! No matter how big or small, we greatly appreciate all donations.
Q: How can I make a donation?
A: The easiest way to donate is through our LocalGiving page and the best bit about LocalGiving is that we receive 100% of donations made. Milton Keynes Community Foundation often run donation matching schemes which means for every donation you make through LocalGiving, it’s matched by MK Community Foundation!
Q: I want to run an event to raise money for Q:alliance.
A: Fantastic! We ask that you get in contact with us as soon as possible so we can help to support and promote your event.
Q: Are there any other ways I can raise money?
A: We’re currently looking at other ways you can easily raise money for Q:alliance. Some of the big name fundraising sites charge charities to use them or take a portion of an individuals donation as a handling fee. We’re passionate about finding avenues that mean 100% of your donation or fundraising efforts reach us.
